A CH-47 helicopter adapted to serve as a maintenance training device is in transit to Mid-Brabant, The Netherlands. The Boeing equipment will be used in an international maintenanc

e training program offered at the Rotary Wing Training Center (RWTC) – part of our organization (the World Class Aviation Academy). The program will help address the maintenance training needs of international operators of the multi-mission, heavy-lift helicopter, the tandem rotor Chinook.

The helicopter maintenance training device is expected to arrive in the port of Amsterdam around mid-January. It will then be taken by road transportation to Gilze en Rijen, where the new Rotary Wing Training Center is based. Boeing has relocated its global maintenance training program to G

ilze en Rijen to allow international Chinook mechanics and technicians the opportunity to train closer to home, providing quality training at an affordable price. The new maintenance training center is located on the premises of Gate 2, the new Aerospace and Maintenance Cluster of Midpoint Brabant, opposite the Gilze-Rijen air force base. The Tilburg municipality and the province of North Brabant are the main sponsors in this regional Dutch partnership program for social innovation.

Training program launch

The first training sessions are scheduled to begin in March with a group of Royal Netherlands Air Force personnel. The vast hall of Gate 2 is being completely renovated to accommodate the new training center. Two of the building's floors have already been partially removed to make room for indoor Chinook maintenance training sessions.
