What does EASA mean?
The safety and security of European aviation are regulated by the European aviation regulations. These regulations are published, managed and supervised by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), which is part of the European Committee. The regulations are divided into several chapters, known as ‘parts'. The Dutch Transport and Communications Inspectorate, Aviation Department (IVWDL) supervises the European regulations in the Netherlands.
Training aircraft maintenance engineers with the power of signature is part of these regulations. The requirements which an aircraft maintenance training institute must meet are described in Part-147; the contents of the training (end terms and skills) are described in Part-66.
The major part of the elementary training of the Aircraft Maintenance & Training School has been EASA certified and therefore meets the requirements of Part-66. Furthermore, the training institute is Part-147 certified.
